2 Websites Everyone Should Know About

The advent of the internet brought resources that offer free learning help. With internet connectivity, you can now reach remote tutors and teachers of specific subjects and freely interact with them. The internet has made learning that much better because it is learning a new topic or needing help with homework. There is always a ban expert just a few clicks away.

Two of these top learning portals are wolframalpha.com and khanacademy.com, and we would like to delve deeper into them.

wolframalpha.com

Wolfram Alpha is a response engine developed by Wolfram Research. It does this by calculating the response from externally obtained “curated data” rather than providing a list of documents or web pages containing the answer as in search engines. An online service that directly answers fact-based questions.

The engine was released on May 18, 2009, and is based on Wolfram’s first flagship product, Wolfram Mathematica. It is a calculation platform or toolkit that includes formula processing, symbolic and numerical calculations, visualizations, and statistical functions. Additional data from academic and commercial websites such as The CIA’s, The World Factbook, and the United States Geological Survey.

How wolframalpha.com works

If you actually need help with homework, you simply submit questions and calculate requests via text fields. Wolfram then computes responses and associated views from a curated structured data knowledge base from other sites and books.

The site uses a portfolio of automated and manual methods, including statistics, visualizations, cross-checking of sources, and expert reviews. With curated data, Alpha differs from semantic search engines, which try to index many answers and then match the questions into one.

The Limitations

The engine can only provide reliable query results based on computational facts. We cannot give the social sciences, cultural studies, or even many questions about history with more delicate and complicated answers. You can answer natural language fact-based questions. However, it does not answer questions that require descriptive solutions similarly though it answers questions about facts or calculations.

The khanacademy.com

The Khan Academy is a non-profit education and course provider. The fact that the platform is not commercial means that there are no prices, etc. Everything on the site is entirely free. MOOC is abbreviated to Massive Open Online Courses. This means that Khan Academy will offer users free, widely available, and subject-specific courses.

The company was founded in 2008 by Salman Khan. The entire content of the site is displayed in the form of a YouTube video. This is the same platform that Kahn used to host tutoring videos aimed at a small number of people, mostly cousins.

Many Khan Academy reviews don’t point out the simplicity of using the site, which is actually a charming aspect. It aims to provide critical ideas as soon as you enter the page, without weighing you down with unnecessary information. “You can learn everything. It’s free. For everyone. Forever.”

If you need free learning help, then this the site to visit.  To select a course, you can enter the desired keyword in the search bar or actually choose one subject from the menu that drops down at the top of the main page. Furthermore, I quickly realized that while Khan Academy offers a wide range of subjects to choose from, the main focus is on math and its directly related topics.

When you select a particular topic and course, that course’s landing page is quickly on display.

Overall, both the technical and design parts of Khan Academy are pretty good. I personally can’t agree with some of the UI placement decisions, but I’ve never seen a review from user Khan Academy getting mad about it.

The UI

The user interface is actually straightforward to use, simple and straightforward. You won’t have to wait for the pages to load. You won’t crash. The design is also straightforward, but it serves its purpose. The site looks nice, and with no ads, there is no distraction by the flashy colors, pop-ups, and banners.

Content quality

Content quality topics are discussions that often pop up in Khan Academy conversations and reviews when people try to understand the site’s goodness. The fact that the platform is entirely free does not mean that you get lower-quality materials. If nothing else, it demands a relatively high standard when it comes to providing good courses to users.

Conclusion

There is nothing better for learners than having access to the world’s top tutors.AI powered solutions and practical examples of common technical subjects, Including Math and Physics.

Besides, what these two sites do is provide essential resources for these students. And they do this free of charge. However, just because their offerings are free does not mean that they skimp on quality. You will clearly find top-quality content hands down. In fact, it would arguably be the best teaching resources anywhere online for yearning students.
